Public Speaking, You Want Me to Do What!

Among the most "feared" activities are sky diving and hand-gliding; add to that public speaking. Usually the thinking is, how in the world can I ever be successful without hurting myself, shattering my confidence or being judged negatively? The key is not to "wing it".

If you have an interest in adventureous activities or have oportunities to do public speaking to promote your business, the best action to take is to hirer a well qualified coach. This is the effective way to learn the correct approach, strategies and techniques. If you do that, you may still have apprehension but your confidence and skillset will be improved. Even experienced thrill seekers and speakers participate in coaching to continue to develop their skills.

Public speaking is a very effective way to increase the visibility of your business, meet others who are interested in your product or services, share the area in which you expertise and begin business relationships. The best way to increase your confidence and lessen your apprehension is to become a student of public speaking, e.g., read subject matter books, investigate websites which offer tutorials as well as hire a professional speaking coach. As with anything else, you need to put the time and effort into learning how to become an effective speaker to reap the rewards for your business.

You will be surprised how quickly your fear of public speaking will lessen when you approach it in the right way.
